How to choose a holiday destination able to satisfy everyone? Pick Italy.

Learn why the Belpaese represents a great holiday location, especially if you’re traveling with people who enjoy different things from you.

Let’s say it: traveling with other people can be difficult, especially when you have to accommodate the needs and the desires of your companions and forget about yours for the sake of friendship.

But why sacrificing someone’s desires when you can have it all? This is when Italy comes into play.

When people are asked to list the best things about Italy, they always point out food, art and the way of life, but for me its true potential lies in VARIETY. Let’s admit it: in terms of beauty and things to do on holiday, Italy lacks nothing.

• SEA

With its 7458 kms of coasts, Italy can surely provide a large amount of seashores. There’s a wide range of sandy and pebbles beaches: just remember that if you love pristine and crystal waters, you’re better choose  rocky environments.

• MOUNTAINS

Have you always preferred the fascinating view of a beautiful mountain and the poetic scenery upon the underlying valley? You can have plenty of this in Italy.

Italy has two of the most famous European mountain chains: Alps and Apennines.

The Alps form an arch of about 1200 kms in Northern Italy.

Among the North-Western Alps there are the highest European mountains (Monte Bianco, Monte Rosa, Cervino) and among the Eastern you can find the Dolomites, part of the UNESCO heritage and also known as the most beautiful mountains in the world.

The Apennines go from North to South and are not as high as the Alps, but they can show beautiful sceneries as well. The peculiarity of the Apennines is that they are subjected to karst, so there are plenty of sinkholes and caves ( Grotte di Frasassi are the most beautiful I have ever seen).

• LAKES

Up in the North, you can find alpine and pre-alpine lakes, which are the result of the mountains’ ice-melting. Alpine lakes’ waters are especially clear blue.

Alpine and pre-alpine lakes are quite windy, so it’s possible to wind- and kite-surf.

Lakes in Central Italy are of volcanic origin and so they are characterized by a round form.

• SPORTS

Rather than just sitting around relaxing, are you  one of those people that on holiday wants to do something more exciting and stimulating? Given the variety of natural environments stated before, you just have to choose among a wide range of sports.

Mountain settings  offer both summer and winter activities (hiking, cycling, paragliding, skiing etc.), seas and lakes allow you to swim, surf, sail.

• ART CITIES

Saying that Italy has a lot of art cities is just stating the obvious, right? Just remember that beyond the “big three” (Venice, Florence, Rome), there is much more to see: fascinating medieval walled-cities, ancient towns and the so-called “borghi”, which, in my opinion, represent the true essence of Italy.

In the previous list I just mentioned few examples of tourist attractions, there’s plenty more! Spa-towns, archeological ruins, industrial heritage, rural environments and so on.

So, if you’re struggling to find the perfect location for you and all your demanding friends and family, just plan an itinerary in Italy: you will be able to offer a satisfying holiday to everyone!
